PRO was founded by Florian Militaru in February of 2003. Trading up his French School plans for a fresh start, Florian came to the U.S. in September of 2002. He owned a small business in Romania, selling refurbished computers imported from Western Europe. Based on his experience with this, he decided to pursue a career as a computer technician in the Unites States. He learned web design and search engine optimization on his own which he used to establish an online presence. He made a home visit to his first client in May of 2003 with just a screwdriver and a lot of confidence. Soon after, he started to do home visits regularly, helping people with their various computer problems.
Two years later, Florian decided to move his business to a storefront location and hire his first employee. With the new exposure, requests for service increased exponentially and Florian saw the need for a backend CRM system to monitor service orders in the shop. The software also gave clients the opportunity to approve the repairs online and pay their remaining balance. By January 2013, PRO was a well-established in-shop and on-site computer service center with over 15,000 clients.
Now, PRO has three well-established locations with more than triple its employee number and is taking steps towards having a nationwide presence. The company has been featured in Chicago Magazine, has over 300 reviews on Yelp, and has been the recipient of the Angie's List Service Award every year since 2005. All of this was possible with the help of "Sugar", an integrated proprietary CRM system that tracks repair orders, on-site appointments, has a self-serve repair portal and is integrated with QuickBooks at the back end - it’s the new enterprise-level CRM for the small business world.
